Total participants at the 2017 Stanley Park Open = over 1,100 unique

Running from Friday, June 30 2017 – Sunday, July 16 2017, the 86th annual Leith Wheeler Stanley Park Open has boasted some record numbers. Take a look at this great summary provided by Tennis BC, and be sure to go check out the action in Stanley Park through July 16.

 

WEEK 1

3.5 Star Junior Event (U12-U18) – 229 players

ITF G3 – 98 players

WEEK 2

National Junior Open Series Event (U12-U16) – 281 players

Note: winners of this event will get an automatic spot to represent their province at outdoor nationals. Event is open to anyone from around the world to participate in. 

NTRP (open to all adults from bigger to intermediate – all ages):  444 players

OPEN (ex pros, NCAA players, High performance players – all ages): 132 players

Parent Child / Team Event:  62 players

 

About the Leith Wheeler Stanley Park Open

The Leith Wheeler Stanley Park Open is the largest grassroots public court tennis tournament in North America and is British Columbia’s premier tennis event. Held at the Stanley Park Tennis Courts overlooking Vancouver’s famed English Bay, the event boasts an array of age categories and levels: from first-time competitors to local tennis heroes, juniors to adults, and international competitors. There is an event for everyone!

The LWSPO is a celebration of tennis and prides itself on the fun, family and community atmosphere created throughout the 17 days. With four more days of action (event runs through July 16) – make sure you get out and become a part of the excitement.
